What the 21st Century Cures Act means to Home Infusion services

For years, traditional Medicare patients were unable to access Medicare for iv at home services.

Often, patients were forced to access infusion services in more expensive sites of care, rather than through Specialty Pharmacies providing medication and nursing iv services at lower costs. The 21st Century Cures Act was to open up access to cost effective home iv infusion resources.

However, CMS has proposed inadequate reimbursement, lower than provider costs in some cases. Infusion Ventures believes Medicare patients will be unable to access the more cost effective and convenient home iv infusion services of specialty pharmacies and home infusion providers as was intended by Congress.
